In this sterile environment of the Corona Virus, it is very gratifying that the Schubert Club was still able to offer - virtually - their legendary scholarship auditions. It is even more gratifying that our studio was honored with such great results. The students posted videos of the required programs on line and they were judged by top notch international artists from around the country. It is very joyous to have Nita win the top prize as her storied thirteen year student career here at Crocus Hill Studios comes to a close. But it is not over yet as we are exploring dates/venues for her senior recital (live or virtual). Nita will also be applying shortly - via video - for the 4th and final level of the Chopin Foundation of America National Scholarship Auditions. She will offer a recording of the complete Chopin Concerto No. 2 in F minor.
Orion has had a great year! This recognition from Schubert Club comes on top of his 1st Prize wins at the Thursday Musical Competition and the St. Paul Piano Teachers Concerto Competition - resulting in his performance of the Saint-Saens Concerto No.2 in G minor with the Mississippi Valley Orchestra.
And it is great to see Collin's name rise once again as an alumnus. Collin had a spectacular high school career here at our studio under Jo Anne's mentor-ship. He is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Piano Performance at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
Please be safe and well!
